Outlook signature images issue

Outlook has had issues with not showing the signature images as per the new template, as they are hosted on Google’s servers, and not directly embedded in the signature.

There are two types of error messages we’ve come across:

The first is about preventing automatic download of images, and looks like this:

If this is what you’re seeing, jump to the Whitelisting section.

The other error mentions that the linked image can’t be displayed:

In this case, do the steps in both the Whitelisting and Internet Options sections.

WHITELISTING

This step involves whitelisting the entire @dow.catholic.edu.au domain in Outlook, so that any emails from staff are considered legitimate. First, in Outlook, use the Search bar and type in Junk, and then hover over the Actions -> Junk choice, and then select Junk E-mail Options.

Inside here, click on the Safe Senders tab, and then add a new entry as per the below image.

Click OK to add the domain, then click OK again to save.

INTERNET OPTIONS

This step involves making a small change to the way Outlook deals with linked images. First, close Outlook completely.

Click on the Start button, and type in Internet Options. This should show an entry titled Internet Options, with Control Panel underneath. Click on this to open it.

Click on the Advanced tab, and then scroll down to the Security section (with a small padlock icon). Below, there will be an option Do not save encrypted pages to disk - make sure this box is unchecked, and click OK.

Outlook should now display the DoW signature images correctly.
